Robert J. Huerta

Robert J. Huerta, 72, of Providence, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Ovelia “Bella” (Collado) Huerta.

Born in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija,Philippines, on Jan. 25, 1954, he was the son of the late Bonafacio and Severina (Jardinez) Huerta.

As a young man, Robert worked hard to achieve his goal of living in the United States. Robert realized that goal in the late 70’s. He met his future wife, Ovelia, in Rhode Island and got married on Sept. 27, 1986.  

In addition to his wife of 40 years, he leaves his children, Rachelle Jane Huerta Ayupan, Albert Charles Huerta (his loving companion, Daja Kha), and Philip James Huerta (his fiancé Noereem Mena).

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 2pm until 5pm in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
